Memos of Mass Destruction

In case you haven't been paying attention; the vaunted WMD, the unmanned aerial vehicles that were supposed to rain death on American cities, the smoking guns that would soon come as mushroom clouds, have now been replaced by an even graver reality: Memos of Mass Destruction.

Wow. That Power Line link is like, the stupidest blog item ever. An entire memo about chemists talking about high explosives is somehow evidence that Saddam was sharing chemical warfare knowledge with foreign terrorists. Which makes sense, I guess, because what are explosives? Chemicals!

Of course that leaves us with a foreign part. Saddam's double-secret Republican Guard-Plus unit was called Saddam's Fedayeen. And here is a memo about training the "Fedayeen" in explosives.

But that's not the point! The point is that this memo shows unambiguously that, clear back in 1999, Saddam's military was focused on - military things!

And it's from Free Republic, so it has to be valid :0
